To a solution of 3.6 g 4-{2-[(5-Benzyloxycarbonylmethoxy-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carbonyl)-amino]-acetyl}-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid butyl ester in 80 ml THF were added 0.6 g Pd/C (10%) and the suspension stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen (3 bar) for 12 h. The reaction mixture was filtrated over a plug of Celite, washed with THF and concentrated to give the crude product which was used in the subsequent reaction.
