3,6-Dimethoxy-2-quinoxalinecarboxylic acid (Example 12c) (2 g) and N,N'-carbonyldiimidazole (1.4 g) in tetrahydrofuran (50 ml) were heated under reflux for 15 minutes. 5-Amino-1H-tetrazole (0.8 g) in dimethylformamide (5 ml) was added and the mixture was heated under reflux for a further 30 minutes. The solid that crystallised from the solution on cooling was collected and dried. It had m.p. 250°-251° (d) (59%).
