Procedure

13 g (44.9 mmol) of ethyl 2-benzyl-6-methyl-2,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.0]octane-7-carboxylate in 150 ml of ethanol are hydrogenated on 2 g of palladium/active carbon (10% Pd) at 100° C. and 100 bar. The catalyst is filtered off, and the filtrate is concentrated and distilled.
