Procedure

96.5 g (0.279 mol) of diethyl 2-benzyl-2,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.0]octane-3,7-dicarboxylate in 1 l of ethanol are hydrogenated on 5 g of palladium/active carbon (10% Pd) at 100° C. and 100 bar. The liquid phase is filtered off with suction, concentrated and distilled.
