Procedure

A solution of 3-(4-ethoxy-1,2,5-thiadiazol-3-yl)pyridine (0.90 g, 4.3 mmol) and ethyl iodide (2.03 g, 13 mmol) in acetone (4 ml) was stirred at 40° C. for 16 h. The pecipitate was collected by filtration giving the title compound to yield 1.34 g (86%).
