To a solution of 577.3 mg (1.42 mM) of N-[3-(N-(3-phenylpropan-1-yl)amino)propan-1-yl]-5-thia-1,8b-diazaacenaphthylene-4-carboxamide in ethanol (6 ml) was added 2.0 ml (8.0 mM) of 4N-HCl/methanol at room temperature and the mixture was stirred for several minutes. The solvent was then distilled off under reduced pressure to provide the title compound.
