Reaction Steps
Concentrated hydrochloric acid (0.8 ml) was added to a stirred solution of N-[3-[4-(3-phenylpropan-1-yl)-2-oxopiperazin-1-yl]propan-1-yl]-5-thia-1,8b-diazaacenaphthylene-4-carboxamide (261 mg, 0.549 mmol) in ethanol (5.0 ml) at room temperature. After stirring at room temperature for 1 hour, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give N-[3-[4-(3-phenylpropan-1-yl)-2-oxopiperazin-1-yl]propan-1-yl]-5-thia-1,8b-diazaacenaphthylene-4-carboxamide dihydrochloride as an orange amorphous powder(295 mg, 98%).
