Etanol (20 ml) and 10% palladium carbon (70 mg) were added to 1-[1-(2-nitrophenacyl)-2-oxo-5-pivaloyl-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2H-1,5-benzodiazepin-3-yl]-3-(3-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)urea (700 mg), the mixture was stirred at room temperature under hydrogen atmosphere for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was filtrated and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure, to thereby to obtain 280 mg of the title compound as colorless oil.
