Procedure

When a methanolic solution of 2-[(thiazol-2-yl)methylthio]ethylamine [prepared according to the procedure described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,950,333] is reacted with 3,4-dimethoxy-1,2,5-thiadiazole 1,1-dioxide and the resultant 3-methoxy-4-{2-[(thiazol-2-yl)methylthio]ethylamino}-1,2,5-thiadiazole 1,1-dioxide treated with methylamine according to the general procedure described in Example 31, the title compound is thereby produced.
