Four and one-half g. of methyl chlorothioformate was added dropwise at ambient temperature to a well-stirred mixture of 8.7 g of N-m-aminophenyl-2,2-dimethylsuccinimide, prepared in Example II above, 4.5 g. of triethylamine and 100 ml. of acetone. When the reaction was complete (approximately 30 minutes), the mixture was poured into approximately 500 ml. of water and the product, which crystallized from solution, was collected by filtration and dried. Yield was 9.3 g. of a product having a m.p. of 128°-129° C. The product was identified as the title compound by analysis of infrared spectra.
