PROCEDURE

An acetone solution (2 ml) of oxalic acid dihydrate (0.25 g) was added to an acetone solution (6 ml) of ethyl (2R,3R)-3-[(s)-3-methyl-1-{4-(2,3,4-trimethoxyphenylmethyl)-piperazine-1-yl carbonyl}butylcarbamoyl]oxirane-2-carboxylate (1.04 g), and the crystal which had precipitated was collected by filtration and dried to yield 0.99 g of ethyl (2R,3R)-3-[(s)-3-methyl-1-{4-(2,3,4-trimethoxyphenylmethyl)piperazine-1-yl carbonyl}butylcarbamoyl]oxirane-2-carboxylate oxalate as a colorless crystal (yield: 81%).
