Reaction Steps
A mixture of intermediate (11) (0.012 mol) in HCl (36%, 100 ml) was stirred and refluxed for 6 hours, then stirred overnight at room temperature. The precipitate was filtered off and triturated under 2-propanol. The precipitate was filtered off and dried, yielding 6.2 g of α-phenyl-4-[4-[[[4′-(trifluoromethyl)[1,1′-biphenyl]-2-yl]carbonyl]-amino]phenyl]-1-piperidineacetic acid monohydrochloride (intermediate 12).
