Reaction Steps
A mixture of intermediate (37) (0.053 mol) in HCl (36%; 300 ml) was stirred and refluxed for 2 days, cooled, filtered and dried. The residue was triturated in 2-propanone. The precipitate was filtered off and dried, yielding 21.5 g of α-phenyl-4-[4-[([1,1′-biphenyl]-2-ylcarbonyl)amino]phenyl]-1-piperazineacetic acid hydrochloride (1:2) 2-propanolate (1:1) (intermediate 38).
