To a solution of N1-[1-(6-Methoxy-[1,5]naphthyridin-4-yl)-pyrrolidin-3-yl]-ethane-1,2-diamine (1.3 g, 4.53 mmol) in THF (50 mL) at 0° C. was slowly added ethyl trifluoroacetate (1.19 mL, 4.53 mmol). The solution was stirred for 1.5 h and concentrated. The resulting solid was used without further purification (1.73 g, quantitive): LC/MS m/z 384 (M+H)+.
