Procedure

A solution of 51.2 (100 mg, 0.19 mmol) in EtOH (3 mL) was treated with chloroacetone (88 mg, 0.95 mmol). The resulting mixture was refluxed for 5 h. Aqueous HCl (6N, 25 μL) was added into above reaction mixture and the reaction was heated at 50° C. overnight. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The product was purified via flash chromatography (50% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to yield 51.3 (50 mg). MS ESI (pos.) m/e: 526 (M+H).
