Procedure
The product of step A was subjected to Boc-deprotection with TFA following the procedure of Example 28, Step B. The crude product was purified by flash column chromatography (SiO2, 1:9 methanol/dichloromethane) to give 2-(4-chlorophenyl)sulfonyl-5-methyl-5,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-7,10-epiminocyclohepta[b]indole (20 mg, 26%) as a white solid. 1H NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz) δ 8.12-8.14 (m, 1H), 7.83-7.94 (m, 2H), 7.61 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 7.51-7.55 (m, 2H), 7.45-7.48 (m, 1H), 4.59 (d, J=2.7 Hz, 1H), 4.01-4.05 (m, 1H), 3.64 (s, 3H), 3.16-3.23 (m, 1H), 2.61-2.67 (m, 1H), 1.94-2.23 (m, 3H), 1.59-1.67 (m, 1H).
