A mixture of 75 mg of 2-(pyridin-2-ylacetyl)-N-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxy)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-6-carboxamide, 6 ml methanol and 6 ml of an aqueous, 0.1 N hydrochloric acid is stirred overnight at ambient temperature. The reaction mixture is evaporated and the residue is dissolved in a mixture of 2 ml water and 2 ml acetonitrile and lyophilized. 75 mg of the title compound are obtained as colorless solid.
