A mixture of 200 mg N2-(2-phenylethyl)-N7-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxy)-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline-2,7(1H)-dicarboxamide in 6 ml methanol and 6 ml 0.1 N aqueous hydrochloric acid is stirred overnight at ambient temperature. Subsequently, the reaction mixture is evaporated. The residue is dissolved in a mixture of water and acetonitrile and lyophilized. The crude product is further purified by silica gel flash chromatography. 98 mg of the title compound are obtained. MH+=340.1
