{1-[1-(5-iodo-pyrimidin-2-yl)-cyclopropylcarbamoyl]-cyclopropyl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (426 mg, 0.96 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) and 4M HCl in dioxane 3 mL, 6 mmol) was added. After 90 minutes, the volatiles were removed at 60° C. under a stream of N2. The resulting while solid was dried under vacuum overnight to yield crude 400 mg of 1-amino-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid[1-(5-iodo-pyrimidin-2-yl)-cyclopropyl]-amide dihydrochloride. This material was used without further purification.
