Reaction Steps
A mixture of 2-(2-aminophenyl)ethanol (5 g, 36.4 mmol) and KOH (2.0 g, 36.4 mmol) was heated to 200° C. for 4 h. After cooling, the mixture was distilled under vacuum to yield 2.1 g of product.
