A solution of the product from step 3 (4.0 g, 8.3 mmol) and hydrazine hydrate (0.83 g, 16 mmol) in 30 mL of EtOH was stirred at 90° C. overnight. The yellow suspension was reduced to ˜15 mL of EtOH. The solid was collected and washed with cold EtOH to give the product (2.05 g, 55%): Mp 213-214° C.; MS m/z 395 (M-tBu+H).
