To 291.3 mg of 5-methyl-4-[4-(3-piperidin-1-ylpropoxy)benzoyl] isoxazole-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (0.7057 mmol) in 1.54 mL of ethanol at room temperature was added 49.4 μL of hydrazine monohydrate (0.988 mmol). After 21 h, the heterogeneous reaction was cooled to 0° C. and filtered. The white solid was washed with cold ethanol then diethyl ether and dried at 65° C. under high vacuum. Yield 120 mg (46%) of a white solid Mp 178-9; MS m/z 369 (M+H).
