2-Fluoroethanol (380 μL, 6.45 mmol) is added to potassium tert-butoxide (730 mg, 6.16 mmol) in THF (60 mL) and stirred for 5 min at rt. After the addition of 2,6-dichloro-N-(4-trifluoromethyl-cyclohexyl)-nicotinamide (2.00 g, 5.86 mmol) the reaction mixture is stirred for 1 h hour at rt, then diluted with water and concentrated. The residue is stirred in ice water, the precipitate is filtered off and dried.
