Procedure

To a magnetically stirred solution of MeO-GlyLys [ε-CBz] [α-Lys] [Boc]2 (1.0 g, 1.47 mmol), methanol (32 ml) and water (16 ml) was added 1M aq. NaOH solution (3 ml) at room temperature. The reaction and product isolation were carried out according to the method described in Example 13.vi to afford HO-GlyLys [ε-CBz] [α-Lys] [Boc]2 (942 mg, 96%) as a colourless foam.
