Procedure
TFA (3 mL) was added to a solution of 1-tert-butyl 2-methyl (2S,4R)-4-[(3-allyl-1-methyl-3H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]quinolin-4-yl)oxy]pyrrolidine-1,2-dicarboxylate (1.30 g, 2.79 mmol) in DCM (20 mL). The mixture was stirred for 4 h, then diluted with PhMe and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was taken up in EtOAc and washed with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and brine. The organic phase was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give the title compound (1.02 g, 98%) as an oil that was used without further purification in subsequent steps. LCMS (ES+) m/z 366 (M+H)+.
