Procedure

A solution of the product of Step A (0.025 g, 0.05 mmol) in a mixture of solvents (CH3OH, CH2Cl2, 30% HCl: 1 ml, 3 ml, 15 drops) was stirred for 3 h at room temperature. The solvents were evaporated and co-evaporated with iPrOH to give the title compound (0.012 g, 48%) as creamy paste. 1H-NMR (CDCl3) 7.45 (d, 2H, J=8.12 Hz); 7.23-7.33 (m, 4H); 7.16-7.09 (m, 3H); 6.88 (d, 2H, J=3.68 Hz); 4.95 (bs, 1H); 4.21 (s, 2H); 4.07-4.02 (m, 1H); 3.92-3.68 (m, 6H); 3.29-3.26 (m, 1H); 1.03 (d, 6H, J=6.6 Hz).
