To a stirring solution of 4-(4-tert-butoxycarbonyl-piperazin-1-yl)-6-(3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-pyrimidine-2-carbonitrile (50 mg) in dichloromethane (1 ml) was added trifluoroacetic acid (250 μl). The resulting solution was stirred at room temperature for 2 hrs. Reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was dissolved in acetonitrile and purified using the prep-HPLC to give the title compound trifluoroacetic acid salt as a white solid (6 mg).
