To a 50-mL, round-bottomed flask containing a solution of 6-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-N-(2,3-dihydrobenzo[b][1,4]dioxin-6-yl)-2-(methylthio)pyrimidin-4-amine from step (b) above (0.41 g, 1.0 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (10 mL) was added m-CPBA (0.38 g, 2.2 mmol, Aldrich). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 h, and the solvent was removed in vacuo. The residue was dried in vacuo to provide the title product. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 439 (M+1).
