Reaction Steps
4.5 gm of 11-(5-chlorovaleryl)-5,11-dihydro-6H-pyrido [2,3-b][1,4]-benzodiazepin-6-one and 10 ml of pyrrolidine were refluxed in 100 ml of ethanol for 12 hours. The alcohol was then distilled off, the residue was dissolved in chloroform/water, the organic phase was evaporated in vacuo to dryness, and the residue was recrystallized from ethyl acetate.
