Procedure

Using the procedure of Example 5, the product of Step A was reacted with 1-methyl-piperazine to obtain a 49% yield of 5,11-dihydro-11-[2-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-propionyl]-6-H-pyrido-[2,3-b][1,4]-benzodiazepine-6-one which melted at 223°-224° C. after crystallization from ethyl acetate.
