Procedure
To 7 g S-methylisothiourea in 50 ml of acetone at 10 degrees C., there are added in drops 12 g of 2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-2-bromo-acetyl bromide in 30 ml acetone. The mixture is stirred for 30 minutes at 10 degrees C., and the precipitate is suction-filtered. After concentration of the mother liquor, a second fraction of S-methyl-N-[2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-2-bromo acetyl] isothiourea is obtained. The decomposition point is 177 degrees.
