Reaction Steps
Benzyl 3-(2-azidoethyloxy)-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-en-7-one-2-carboxylate is reacted with lithium diisopropylamide and acetaldehyde as described in Example 19 to provide benzyl 6-(1-hydroxyethyl)-3-(2-azidoethyloxy)-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-en-7-one-2-carboxylate.
