Procedure
Baldrinal (2) (1.1 g) was reacted with octadecylamine (2.58 g) in 20 ml of chloroform. After stirring for 15 minutes at room temperature, the solution turned into thick red liquid. When all the baldrinal was reacted, an orange product (7) (53.4 mg) was collected after column chromatography on silica using 8:2 hexanes:ethyl acetate as a solvent.
Workup
- customan orange product (7) (53.4 mg) was collected after column chromatography on silica using 8:2 hexanes
