In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of 1-[5-(4-nitro-pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)-isoxazol-3-yl]-ethanol (435 mg, 1.83 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (8.0 mL) was treated at rt with MnO2 (1.32 g, 13.70 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 16 h at rt before being filtered through Celite. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound. LC-MS-conditions 02: tR=0.87 min.
