In a flame dried round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar and under inert atmosphere (N2), a solution of [1-(2-hydroxymethyl-thiazol-4-ylmethyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]-carbamic acid 2-chloro-benzyl ester (230 mg, 0.61 mmol) in AcCN (6.0 mL) was treated at rt with MnO2 (293 mg, 3.04 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt overnight before being filtered through Celite and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a white solid. LC-MS-conditions 02: tR=0.96 min; [M+H]+=377.08.
