Procedure

To a mixture of 12 (10 g, 25.6 mmol) in dimethylforamide (100 mL) was added BrCH2CO2CH2CH3 (5.55 g, 33.21 mmol). The mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. The reaction was quenched by water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layer was washed by water for 5 times and dried over sodium sulfate, and then concentrated in vacuo to give the product 13 (9.7 g, 80%).
