To a solution of tert-butyl 4-(4-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)naphthalen-1-yloxy)pyrimidin-2-ylcarbamate (1.35 g, 2.98 mmol) in DCM (15 mL) was added TFA (5.0 mL) and the reaction mixture was set aside at RT for 3 hr. The mixture was evaporated in vacuo and the residue was taken up into EtOAc (25 mL) and washed with saturated NaHCO3 solution (25 mL) and brine (25 mL) and then dried (MgSO4) Evaporation in vacuo afforded the title compound as a beige solid (735 mg, 96%); Rt 0.98 min (Method 2); m/z 253 (M+H)+, (ES+)+.
