Reaction Steps
500 mg of methyl ester of L-(+)-valine hydrochloride are placed in a round-bottom flask. 45 mL of buffer solution (K2HPO4/K3PO4 (pH=12.4)), then 22.5 mL of anhydrous dichloromethane are successively added. The mixture is agitated at room temperature for 30 min. The organic phase is separated, washed with brine, dried on magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under vacuum.
