Procedure
To a stirred solution of {(1R,2R)-1-[2-(4-Heptyloxy-phenyl)-ethyl]-2-hydroxy-1-methyl-butyl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (25 mg, 0.06 mMol) in CH2Cl2 (3 ml) is added TFA (0.3 ml). The solution is stirred at RT for 2 hours. After removing the solvent under reduced pressure, the residue is lyophilized from dioxane to give the title compound as its trifluoroacetate salt as a white, amorphous powder.
