Procedure
1 g of dl-pyroglutamic acid was dissolved in a mixed solvent of 25 ml of methanol and 15 ml of chloroform, and 7.7 ml of trimethylsilyldiazomethane (2 M hexane solution) was added to it at room temperature, and then stirred for 20 minutes as it was. The solvent was evaporated away under reduced pressure, the residue was dissolved in chloroform, and washed with saturated saline water. After dried, the solvent was removed to obtain 1.03 g of the entitled compound as a pale yellow oil.
