Reaction of 3-amino-5-butyl-4-[(2'-cyanobiphenyl-4-yl)methyl]-4H-1,2,4-triazole (from Example 1, Step D) with phenacyl bromide (2-bromoacetophenone) according to the procedure of Example 1, Step E, gave an 86% yield of the title compound as a stiff, yellow foam, suitable for use without further purification.
