Reaction of 3-amino-5-butyl-4-[(2'-cyanobiphenyl-4-yl)methyl]-4H-1,2,4-triazole (from Example 1, Step D) with 1-bromo-2-butanone according to the procedure of Example 1, Step E, gave a quantitative yield of the title compound as a white solid, mp 221°-224° C.
