Procedure
A solution of ethyl 5-[(1R)-1-(2-tert-butoxy-2-oxoethyl)-4-cyclohexylbutyl]-1,2,4-oxadiazole-3-carboxylate (preparation 170) (1.14 g, 2.89 mmol) in EtOH (20 ml) was treated with NH2NH2.H2O (280 μl, 5.78 mmol) and stirred at room temperature for 45 minutes. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was partitioned between EtOAc and H2O/brine. The organic solvent was removed under reduced pressure to afford the title compound (1.06 g, 90%).
