Reaction Steps
2.0 g of ethyl [3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1,2,4]triazol-1-yl]acetate (Example 2) are dissolved in 15 ml of ethanol and treated with 0.8 ml of 8M methylamine in ethanol. The mixture is stirred at 60° C. for 3 h and then cooled. The crystals precipitating in the course of this are filtered off and washed with ethanol. After drying, 2-[3,5-bis(2-hydroxyphenyl)-[1,2,4]triazol-1-yl]-N-methylacetamide remains as colorless crystals m.p. 247-249 ° C.
