A mixture of (1R*,2R*,5S*,6R*)-2-{[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]methoxy}-6-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-1-phenyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane (Example 25; 20 mg, 0.04 mmol), dichloromethane (1 ml) and 1M HCl in diethyl ether (0.5 ml) was kept at room temperature for 2 weeks. The white solid was filtered off, washed with a 1:1 mixture dichloromethane:diethyl ether to give the title compound (11 mg).
