Intermediate D2 (1 g; 2.81 mmol) was dissolved in t-BuOH (40 ml) and, then intermediate D3 (0.44 g; 4.22 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred and refluxed for 4 hours and then the solvent was evaporated. The residue was purified by silica column chromatography (gradient: CH2Cl2/10% CH3OH in CH2Cl2 from 100/0 to 0/100). Yield: 1.1 g of intermediate D4 (S-enantiomer).
