Ethyl 4-(1-((3,5-dimethylisoxazol-4-yl)methyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-2-methyl-3,5-dioxo-1,2,4-triazolidine-1-carboxylate (3.2 g, 8.8 mmol) was stirred in a (1/1) mixture of MeOH/1N aqueous NaOH (100 mL) at ambient temperature for 30 minutes. The mixture was acidified with aqueous 1N HCl (150 mL), extracted with ethyl acetate (3×, 100 mL), dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to afford 4-(1-((3,5-dimethylisoxazol-4-yl)methyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1-methyl-1,2,4-triazolidine-3,5-dione (2.3 g, 89%) as a yellow solid. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz): δ2.18 (s, 3H), 2.44 (s, 3H), 3.05 (s, 3H), 5.17 (s, 2H), 7.94 (s, 1H), 8.13 (s, 1H).
