A stirring solution of (E)-3-(2,2-dimethyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrido[3,2-b][1,4]oxazin-7-yl)-N-methyl-N-(3-methylbenzofuran-2-ylmethyl)acrylamide (0.147 g, 0.375 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (4 mL) under N2 was treated with anhydrous HCl (0.18 mL of a 2 M solution in diethyl ether, 0.37 mmol). After stirring for 6 h, the resulting solids were collected by filtration, washed with Et2O (50 mL) and dried to yield the title compound (0.14 g, 88%) as an off-white solid and as a mixture of amide rotamers: 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.69 (br s, 1H), 8.00-7.94 (m, 2H), 7.57-7.55 (m, 1H), 7.49-7.44 (m, 2H), 7.30-7.14 (m, 3H), 4.99-4.77 (m, 2H), 3.37 (br s, 2H), 3.15-2.90 (m, 3H), 2.25 (s, 3H), 1.32 (s, 6H); MS (ESI) m/e 392 (M+H)+.
