A mixture of the indole (0.050 g, 0.18 mmol) from step A, Cs2CO3 (0.065 g, 0.20 mmol), 3-(chloromethyl)-5-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazole (0.046 g, 0.20 mmol) and CH3CN (4 mL) was stirred at 70° C. for 24 h. The mixture was diluted with EtOAc (25 mL), washed with water (15 mL), brine (15 mL), dried over (MgSO4) and concentrated. Added 10% Et2O in hexanes (10 mL) and stirred for 2 h. The resulting solid was filtered, rinsed with hexanes and dried to afford the title compound (0.065 g, 76%) as a light tan solid: 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 8.23 (d, J=8.6 Hz, 1H), 7.98 (d, J=8.6 Hz, 1H), 7.74-7.64 (m, 3H), 7.23 (s, 1H), 5.99 (s, 2H), 2.24 (t, 3H); MS m/z 467 (M−H).
