Tetrahydrothiophene → Phenacyltetrahydrothiophenium bromide
Participants
| Role | Name | HCID | Charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactant | Tetrahydrothiophene | HCID 1127 | — |
| Reactant | Phenacyl bromide | HCID 6259 | — |
| Solvent | Acetone | HCID 180 | — |
| Product | Phenacyltetrahydrothiophenium bromide | HCID 11346720 | — |
Reaction Steps
150 Parts of 2-bromoacetophenone was dissolved in 375 parts of acetone, and 66.5 parts of tetrahydrothiophene was added dropwise to the solution obtained. The resultant mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours and the white precipitates were filtrated, washed, and dried to obtain 207.9 parts of 1-(2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)tetrahydrothiophenium bromide in the form of white crystals.
